What Is Included?
The fee for the public workshop is $2,300.00 when paid by ACH or check. There is a credit card transaction fee when paying with a major credit card. The registration fees include the following: workshop fees, participant materials, and either one 20-minute virtual feedback session or a design session, within up to six months following the workshop. IBCT application certification fees are an additional $565.00, which TrainSMART collects along with the required international certification documents and submits to the IBCT for review.
Fees are due 21 days before the workshop. There are no refunds. If a participant cannot attend their scheduled workshop, they have up to one year to reschedule. They may transfer their credit to another person with written permission.

How is TrainSMART’s three-day Train-the-Trainer workshop structured?
The program is intentionally hands-on rather than three days of lecture.
Day 1 focuses heavily on the learner and instructional design, including communication styles, understanding the audience, adult learning, instructional design and developing effective training.
Day 2 focuses primarily on delivery, facilitation, managing content, managing the classroom, participant engagement, and facilitating training in virtual environments.
Day 3 brings the learning together through participant training presentations, feedback, coaching, and program wrap-up. The official course agenda follows this progression from instructional design and audience analysis through delivery and the final project.
What happens during the Day 3 training presentation?
On Day 3, participants deliver a short training session on a topic of their choice.
This gives you an opportunity to apply the techniques you have learned during the workshop, rather than simply discussing them.
Participants are encouraged to use content that relates to the training they actually conduct at work. Your session may incorporate activities, questioning techniques, visual aids, learner engagement strategies, and other techniques developed during the course.
The TrainSMART curriculum is designed so that participants work toward this presentation throughout the program. Participants develop a training plan, supporting instructional materials, and a recorded training session as part of the course experience.
Is TrainSMART’s Train-the-Trainer program internationally certified?
Yes. TrainSMART’s three-day Train-the-Trainer program is certified by the International Board of Certified Trainers (IBCT).
Completing TrainSMART’s three-day program satisfies the professional training requirement, which is the first step toward applying for IBCT trainer certification. Participants interested in becoming IBCT certified must then complete the appropriate IBCT application and meet the requirements for the certification level for which they are applying.
The appropriate IBCT certification level depends upon factors such as your professional experience and education.
How much does the Train-the-Trainer workshop in Austin cost?
Registration for TrainSMART’s three-day public Train-the-Trainer workshop is $2,300 per participant. For international trainers, certification for the 3-day workshop through the IBCT will cost $2865.
Government agencies receive a 10% discount on public workshop registration.
