When one of the largest retail drug store chains changed their IT support to an outsourcing model, company culture changed drastically. The company quickly recognized the importance in providing training that would prepare their managers and global team members for this culture shift.
TrainSmart provided an instructional designer that adapted TrainSmart’s Working with Virtual Teams workshop content to fit the needs of the audience. The instructional designer designed a tailored instructor-led workshop to address varied time zones and cultures. A set of forms, best practices and communication plans were all inclusive of the solution.
Over 300 staff members completed the training. Each participant took a self-assessment, which provided individual insight into how they prefer to work with others. Additionally, the participants practiced utilizing the company’s webinar and instant messaging tools, as well as created a global clock and universal meeting and reporting forms that are being used successfully today.
